Facing backwards in Train

Facing backwards in Train

It’s a cold 4 degree Saturday morning as I stepped out of my accommodation. The cold penetrated my 3 layered clothing with the wind intensifying it further. 15 mins later, I reached the train station slightly earlier than expected. While waiting for the train to come, I sat on one of the benches. The cool mist formed each time I exhaled, and they appeared more often as I waited. The sky looks grey with a slight hint of dark clouds; perhaps it’s going to rain later. But now it seemed that Time had stopped, and I sat there experiencing the cold freeze. Life is as it is, sometimes it’s cold when the low periods arrive.

The train finally came and I got a backwards-facing seat instead of the forward facing seat I reserved. When it began to leave the station, I looked upon the view of an old abandoned building beside the track. Time seemed to start to move back as the view of those old broken walls become smaller and smaller until they were no longer visible. Seating backwards is a unique experience in this moment. In Life, perhaps there will be time for us to rest and look back, at what you have done or change. Appreciate the moments in the 4 degrees cold; appreciate what you have left behind in order to move forward.

Life is facing forwards and backwards at a time, the former is seeking improvement, while the latter is for seeking gratefulness.
